prisma informatik GmbH provides effective migration concept when Microsoft Dynamics NAV update is too complex and expensive

The data transfer by planning to update the ERP system to the latest version can become highly complex, and is in most cases timeconsuming and expensive. prisma informatik GmbH, however, shows at CeBIT 2016, how migration projects can be efficiently prepared by combining with BI solutions of Qlik.

Nuremberg, Germany, 4 March 2016. Classical migration processes of Microsoft Dynamics NAV often require very high costs and time expenditure, since certain customized ERP systems have become complex over their lifetimes. Also, in most cases, years of using the old system will have created inconsistent or even completely erroneous records, which ideally should be sorted and cleaned out by using extensive data analyses before the actual data transfer. An effective approach for such migration projects is shown at CeBIT 2016 by the German Microsoft Gold Partner prisma informatik GmbH.

Numerous real-world examples have shown in the past that employing a flexible business intelligence solution for supporting and preparing various projects at an early stage – in addition to the classic BI tool used later – pays off very quickly. Previously implemented external business intelligence solutions such as QlikView® or Qlik® Sense from Qlik®, a leader in visual analytics, serve as optimal analytics tools. Even classic migration projects of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, for example, can be efficiently prepared in this way.

Furthermore, the new reporting engine since Dynamics NAV Version 2013 causes considerable problems while transferring old reports, this leads to high costs while ultimately only transferring the static reports into the new system. Accordingly, a decision must be made as to what reports within the ERP system are needed in fact, and what can be dispensed with. Implementation of a flexible and powerful BI tool presents a sensible alternative in this case. This can be performed instead of the report transfer, and it pays for itself through the costs saved.

At CeBIT in Hannover from 14 to 18 March 2016, prisma informatik will present an overview of the efficient use of BI software during an update of the ERP landscape, at the BARC Forum “Business Intelligence” at booth B36 in hall 5.
