Microsoft released this years autumn versions of its various business applications. Dynamics 365 was also equipped with a number of new features and optimizations. For example, a new background validation of journals now makes it possible to identify and resolve potential issues before posting.
It was already possible to use the posting preview to display which issues would occur during processing financial journals. With the new Business Central version, this functionality has been enhanced by an additional validation. This validation shows problems before they occur in a FactBox and helps to prevent those in advance.
By activating the function, financial journals such as general or payment journals are checked in the background during compilation. Any errors (in the current line and the entire batch) will be displayed in the “Journal Check” FactBox next to the journal lines. The validation always occurs when an financial journal batch is loaded and another journal line is chosen.
The “Issues Total” tile in the FactBox can be used to display an overview of all conflicts found and to toggle between the journal lines with and without issues.
Finally, another new FactBox called “Journal Line Details” gives a quick overview of the details of each journal line and allows access to data such as G/L accounts, customers or vendors, as well as the posting setup for specific accounts.
