Dynamics 365 Business Central is regularly optimized and made clearer for the most possible convenient and intuitive operation. With the latest spring release, the modern action bar has been improved again.
More productivity through an optimized action bar on all app pages
A specific area of the action bar in Business Central can be adapted to industry-specific or company-specific and own requirements. This allows actions to be added to the bar that should be easy to find and available throughout the application. This allows a quick and easy start for new users.
The modern, customizable action bar was already provided in the previous October release. With the current release, further optimizations have been added for the most important 180 pages in the application. In the process, on additional application pages, some frequently used actions have been placed in more prominent locations in the action bar. These special actions are easier to find and quicker to access.
Customize action bar to your requirements in document lines
With the latest Business Central release, the general way in which menus can be customized to meet your own requirements has been made even more flexible. As a result, in addition to the main action bar at the top of pages, actions can now also be personalized for subparts in the content area – for example, the action bar for document lines.
To customize pages, simply select the “Personalize” action in the settings menu in the upper right corner of Business Central. Finally, the respective changes can be made here.
• Subpart action bars show more actions (more options) by default and the Manage group is pinned by default so that important actions can be accessed quickly.
• From now on, actions can be moved between groups, for example, the “Get Shipment Lines” action from the “Functions” action group.
• Action groups and split buttons can be moved between groups as well as to the root of the action bar of a subpart. For example, the “Show Lines with Issues” group has been converted to a split button and classified to the root of a subpart’s action bar. Likewise, the “Item Availability” action group.
• Also, the Clear personalization menu on subparts now includes options to delete personalization for “Only Actions”, “Only Fields and Columns” or “All” personalization.
