Qlik Enhanced File Management

A new Enhanced File Management feature in Qlik Cloud enables convenient, intelligent and efficient file management in the future.

At the beginning of October, BI provider Qlik introduced a new Enhanced File Management feature in Qlik Cloud, which makes file management more efficient and convenient. The new feature allows files uploaded and generated in the cloud to be seamlessly structured into directories and subdirectories. This gives the user full control over the data used.

Batch actions such as move, copy, cut and paste considerably simplify and speed up the management of multiple files. The new file management optimizes workflows, reduces clutter and helps you stay organized at all times.

Organizing files in folder hierarchies

Each space (Personal, Shared, Managed and Data) in Qlik Cloud Analytics contains its own hierarchically organized folder structure. Data files can be organized there in nested folder structures. In the personal space, for example, separate folders can be created for order data and budget data. The respective storage location of a file or folder within an area is displayed in its path. The path uses /-symbols to indicate when a folder is nested in other folders.


Bulk operations on files and folders

Files and folders can be moved to different spaces or to other locations within the same space. Several elements can also be moved at once by using the Cut and Paste actions. This is possible either via the menu or via keyboard shortcuts (CTRL-C, CTRL-V, CTRL-X).
