The latest fall release of Dynamics 365 Business Central also offered some new features in finance and accounting.
In addition to new standard financial reports for the balance sheet, income statement and cost accounting, the latest fall version of Business Central also offers extended options in the area of ad hoc analyses for assets, projects and services.
Use new reports and demo data for financial reporting
With the current version, new standard financial reports for the balance sheet, income statement and cost accounting have been made available in Business Central. These can be used as ready-to-use reports or as templates that can be used to create your own financial reports. Additional demo data can also be generated for a test environment to get a better idea of what data is displayed in the reports.
The list of standard reports for financial reporting has been extended by five new reports. In addition, a set of five new row definitions and 12 column definitions are provided. These can be combined to create more than 25 new reports. The following new reports are available:

Perform ad hoc analyses on fixed assets, projects and services
The latest version of Business Central also allows you to run advanced reports and ad hoc data analyses for assets, projects and the service area. Data can also be grouped, summarized and pivoted in order to obtain the required insights without having to run a report.
The ability to perform data analysis for an AL query was already introduced in an earlier version. The current release now offers ready-to-use queries that simplify ad hoc analysis for assets, projects and services.
For example, the analysis views have been expanded to include access to item tables that are linked to relevant tables. Additional fields can enrich the analysis scenarios that users normally perform on ledger entry list pages.
The ad hoc analysis query for assets links data from asset items to master data tables, such as the tables “Fixed Assets”, “Fixed Asset Class”, “Fixed Asset Subclass”, “Fixed Asset Location” and “Depreciation Book”. When the query is opened, the asset data can be split up and analyzed as required.
