Qlik Sense Cloud: Visualization innovations in April

Qlik Sense Cloud

Qlik is continuously expanding and improving the design options in Qlik Sense Cloud to create comprehensive analyses and visually appealing visualizations.

In recent weeks, the design options in various charts and the general user-friendliness have been optimized in the cloud version of Qlik Sense.

Adjustment of the visualization menu

Qlik Sense recently received new settings for configuring the right click menu. App developers can now decide which actions should be available in the context menu by customizing the user interface settings in the app configurations.

Expanding and collapsing the pivot table

New functions for expanding and collapsing are now available in the pivot table in the visualization bundle. The user can now expand and collapse the entire table directly in view mode. It is now also possible to right click on an individual dimension to expand a specific dimension.

Task chaining and multi-task support through new Self-Service Scheduling

Qlik has also unveiled the first part of its new Self-Service Scheduling project, which provides more control and efficiency when executing workflows in Qlik Cloud.

• Automate sequential tasks to minimize manual effort and errors (no automations required).
• Easily manage simple to complex workflows and ensure adaptability to future requirements.
• Unified view to simplify task management. Next step Live Status Monitoring for real-time visibility of all running tasks.
• Better integration by scheduling multiple tasks across apps, scripts and data flows.

Improvements to the app details

The app details have been changed from a panel to an overlay, allowing a more responsive experience.

Styling of map chart selections

To expand the styling options, Qlik has also added the ability to change the outline color of selections in the map chart. You can now choose a custom color instead of the default color to enhance the styling of geographic apps and maps.

Removal of deprecated objects

To modernize the platform, deprecated charts will also be removed from the bundles soon. The following charts will be removed from the Qlik Analytics distribution in May 2026 and should be replaced with newer features before then if used:

• Bar & area
• Bullet chart (old chart)
• Heatmap chart
• Button for navigation
• Share button
• Show/hide container
• Tabbed container

The old Multi KPI object is also discontinued. It is recommended to replace the object with other charts. If you have not already done so, you should explore the new settings for the design of apps, sheets and charts. The layout container and the navigation menu can also be used to replace the functionality.
