The current spring version of Dynamics 365 Business Central offers the option of having Microsoft Copilot summarize data records in short bullet points.
When working with Dynamics 365 Business Central, a lot of time is spent looking through customer information, orders or other data records in order to keep up to date with the current data status, for example. With the AI-driven assistant Microsoft Copilot, data records can be summarized in a few short sentences since the last Business Central version was released. This helps to gain insights more quickly and make it easier to plan the next steps.
To summarize data records, a new summary FactBox is displayed on card and document pages (e.g. Customer, Item, Sales Order). A summary can be displayed here using a few bullet points containing the most important details – further information is available on demand.

The following information is displayed:
Key figures and status
• Important figures from the data record, e.g. total stock, open balance or number of items
• Current status, e.g. “Payment overdue”, “Stock critical” or “Order being processed”
Particular anomalies or need for action
• Highlighting of threshold value overruns (e.g. stock level < minimum stock level)
• Due dates or deadlines (e.g. upcoming delivery, payment target in 5 days)
Links and next step
• Links to the source pages (e.g. posting lines, supplier card)
• References to related functions (e.g. “Show more” for detailed analysis)
Copilot searches the data on the current page, FactBoxes and related pages and statistics to determine the most important information. The summaries displayed are designed for the respective role of the user and show the information relevant to them. The summarized points can then be used to easily navigate to the respective data in order to analyze it further and initiate further steps accordingly. The summary can always be updated based on the latest data.
The Business Central July update speeds up the creation of the summary. In addition, the summarized content from the FactBox can also be easily shared using the new “Copy” menu item.
