Business Central 2025 Wave 2: Logic and transparency in agent usage

In the age of artificial intelligence, the question of how much trust can be placed in it arises once in a while. Responsible use of AI and human control therefore remain essential – even when using AI-supported agents in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

For some time now, users in Business Central have been able to access various AI functionalities such as Copilot or the Sales Agent. However, when using the agents, e.g. for optimized decision-making in the company, it is important to know on what basis the agent proposes a particular course of action.

To this end, a new visual component has now been added to Business Central that explains the agent’s suggestions and reasoning to the user. This makes it easier to understand, for example, why a particular field value or specific action was suggested and why this might be the best course of action.

In addition, users gain a certain understanding of the underlying logic of the agent, which in turn is crucial for the necessary trust in Artificial Intelligence. This also allows users to see whether the agents’ suggestions are possibly based on incorrect data sets or misconfigurations. These insights can ultimately be used to monitor the agent and influence future suggestions.
