BI provider Qlik recently introduced Table Recipe for Qlik Cloud Analytics. This innovation is a clear, spreadsheet-like environment for data preparation using a table.
The interactive Table Recipe environment makes fast, code-free data preparation accessible to all users and provides immediate visual feedback. Each Table Recipe consists of a sequence of different steps, offering a structured and repeatable method for performing data operations. With Table Recipes, anyone can quickly and easily clean up data sets from a table, thus maintaining a continuous flow of information. To do this, you can select any data set, create a corresponding step-by-step recipe, and view the results directly.
Fast, visual data preparation for everyone
Table Recipe lets you clean up data with over 60 built-in functions—from formatting and masking to calculating new columns. This is done in an interactive, spreadsheet-like interface where you can make changes and see the results immediately. Each step you take becomes part of a recipe that you can track on the right side of the screen and easily repeat and share. Table Recipe is especially great for anyone who wants to prepare data without writing scripts. It’s designed to keep things simple and clear.
Flexible use
Table Recipe is fully integrated into Qlik Cloud Analytics and can be used for quick, one-time table preparation or embedded in larger data flow workflows, for example, to combine and shape multiple data sources. While the recipe is being created, a Qlik script is automatically generated in the background. This allows users to reap the benefits of scripts without their complexity. Users can easily collaborate in shared areas, track changes in the Activity Center, and send the cleaned data directly to dashboards, apps, ML, or AI models.
