Business Central 2025 Wave 2: Suggest gas emissions in sustainability journals with Copilot

In the current version of Dynamics 365 Business Central, gas emissions can soon be suggested in sustainability journals using Copilot.

With Microsoft Copilot, Dynamics 365 Business Central has had an AI-powered assistant for some time now that can help with everyday tasks and thus increase productivity when working with the ERP system. The various AI features offer support in different areas of business – including sustainability reporting, for example.

A new Copilot feature is now set to improve accuracy and productivity in recording gas emissions and calculating emission factors with the current fall release. For greenhouse gas emissions, Copilot will then estimate total emissions based on descriptions and various input parameters. In addition, the emission factors are to be adjusted for future use.

To use the new feature, you will need to call up the Sustainability Journal page. There, you must enter sustainability accounts and fill in the “Descriptions” field with the correct information. You can also enter other relevant parameters, such as fuel/electricity, distance, custom amount, installation multiplier, or time factor. Finally, the “Suggest emissions with Copilot” action must be selected to receive corresponding suggestions.
