Comment on, update, and write back data in real time with Qlik Write Table

Qlik Write Table

BI provider Qlik has unveiled its new Write Table feature. This is an editable table that is integrated with dimensions and measures from the Qlik data model. The new functionality is designed to support simple use cases such as creating notes and categorizing data directly within the Qlik environment.

Qlik Write Table is a new cloud feature in Qlik that allows data from a Qlik script to be written back to an external data source. Write Table is therefore a write-back function that allows edited or calculated data from Qlik to be saved back to databases or other target systems – without having to leave the Qlik environment.

With Write Table, users can, for example, add context to data records directly in analysis tables. The changes are immediately synchronized across sessions, eliminating the need to reload. The feature thus improves context-sensitive data verification and lays the foundation for regulated write-backs to systems such as Salesforce and Snowflake. This supports Qlik’s long-term vision of creating integrated, actionable analytics for users.

Qlik Write Table offers a simple, editable table interface with support for field types such as text, numbers, and drop-downs. It supports simultaneous editing with line-based locking to manage concurrent updates.
