The cloud version of Qlik Sense is continuously being developed to provide users with optimal options for data analysis and evaluation. In this context, the Straight Table and Table Recipe were introduced in the past and have recently undergone further optimization.
Both Table Recipe and the Straight Table have recently been given new features that expand their range of applications and make them easier to work with.
Improved filtering, handling of zero values, and optimized usability in Table Recipe
Qlik Cloud Analytics introduces several improvements to Table Recipe, expanding the flexibility and usability of no-code data preparation:
• More flexible filtering: Suggests more than five values and allows the application of “All”/‘Any’/“None” logic when evaluating multiple filter conditions.
• Optimized handling of null and empty values: Now distinguishes between empty and null values in the “Fill null and empty cells” function. Context-sensitive suggestions are also provided when the selected column contains null or empty values (e.g. deleting rows or filling cells).
• Duplicate and convert to data flow: In the future, you can start with a Table Recipe and seamlessly extend it to a data flow for more complex operations with multiple sources and targets. The new data flow automatically embeds a copy of the Table Recipe as a processor.
• In-context guidance: Function tooltips are now also available when configuring a step in the right panel, providing quick help and links to documentation.
Quick sorting, searching, and cyclic dimension change in Straight Tables
Improvements have also been made to Straight Tables. They now support one-click sorting and instant searching directly via the column headers.
• Sorting: Clicking on any column header allows you to easily change the sort order.
• Searching: Clicking on the magnifying glass icon in a header opens the search bar for that column.
• Cyclic change: Simply click on the cyclic icon to change the cyclic dimension.
For existing Straight Tables, this function can be activated under “Presentation” > “Accessibility options” by turning off “Increase accessibility”. In all newly created Straight Tables, the action icons in the column headers are activated by default.
