Qlik Sense Cloud: Spring updates for visualizations

Qlik Sense Cloud Innovations

BI provider Qlik places great importance on comprehensive analysis capabilities and high-quality visualizations, and therefore continuously develops the design options in Qlik Sense.

In recent weeks, particular emphasis has been placed on optimizing chart design and overall user-friendliness in the cloud version of Qlik Sense.

Drag and drop columns in the straight table

Qlik Sense now allows columns in the straight table to be dragged and dropped with the mouse in view mode. This is now possible without having to switch to edit mode or use the chart inspection window.

Grouping public bookmarks

From now on, app developers can efficiently organize public bookmarks. The new bookmark grouping feature is available in both private and shared spaces. Non-editable groups are displayed in managed spaces when an app is published there. The appropriate menu actions or simply drag & drop can be used for grouping.

Inline images in the Text object

Dashboards can now be enhanced and made more attractive by embedding images into the new Text object. Images can be selected from the media library, resized and aligned.

Customizing the top bar in applications

Recently, the background and font colors of the top bar can be adjusted for optimized formatting.

Adding fields to the selection bar

App developers are now able to pin important fields to the selection bar for easier access. This eliminates the need to duplicate filter windows for frequently used dimensions such as year, quarter and month on each worksheet. Fields can be added and removed via the window for fields or master dimensions. The pinned fields are only visible in the shared selection bar on the desktop, not in the global selection tool or in the mobile list view.

Tracking deprecated charts

The App Analyzer now features a worksheet with information on how and where obsolete charts are used in the Qlik Cloud tenant. It evaluates usage events instead of searching through each app. The App Analyzer can thus be used to find out which apps and worksheets contain charts that need to be updated.
