To enable the most comprehensive analyses and visually appealing visualizations possible, Qlik continuously expands and optimizes the design capabilities in Qlik Sense.

In recent weeks, Qlik Sense Cloud has therefore once again improved the visualization options in charts as well as overall user-friendliness.

Optimized data area in Straight Tables

The data area in straight table has been visually redesigned. Instead of separate areas for active and alternative columns, a centralized view is now available. This makes workflows significantly simpler and clearer. Another advantage: The order of hidden columns is preserved even when new columns are added. Additionally, users can show or hide multiple columns at the same time.

Context menu for table columns and dimensions

Usability has been further simplified for straight tables and pivot tables. You can now right-click on elements in the Data tab to access various management actions. Previously, these actions were only available by clicking the three dots next to each element. The new context menu thus simplifies access to frequently used actions such as:

  • Moving elements up or down
  • Showing and hiding
  • Cutting and copying
  • Duplicating
  • Pasting and deleting

This speeds up many work steps and makes navigation within complex data models easier.

Cell formatting for headers and content in straight tables

New formatting options also allow table charts to be customized even further. The background and text colors of column headers and content cells in table charts can now be formatted separately. This gives companies more options for highlighting key metrics and customizing dashboards to match their corporate design.

Copy monitored charts and save them as images

Monitored charts can now be exported directly as images or copied to the clipboard. They are saved in PNG format. This feature makes it much easier to share analysis results. Chart screenshots can now be easily shared in emails, presentations, or collaboration tools without requiring recipients to have access to Qlik Cloud.

New slider

Qlik Sense Cloud now features a new slider in the dashboard section for interactive control of data analysis. The slider supports both fields and 1- and 2-variable settings and offers many design options (e.g., directions, colors, background, range, labels). It replaces the slider functionality in the variable input object and is ideal for filtering continuous numeric data such as revenue, price, or time, rather than entering it manually or using drop-down lists.

New image object for more flexible dashboard design

In addition, a dedicated image object has been introduced. Unlike traditional background images, using an image object is easier – especially for new users – and also helps when creating objects with multiple layers and mixed content. The image object supports images from the media library and via URL, and offers options for opacity, rotation, mirroring, and repeat.
